Antique Arts and Crafts Embroidered Tree of Life Cushion: C1900/20

Designed and handmade in England this attractive crewelwork cushion dating from the Arts and crafts era.

Handworked in softly coloured wools onto a fine linen ground and depicting a tree of life, influenced by 17th century embroidery which enjoyed a resurgence at this time.

In excellent useable condition with no damage that we have found. Some overall fading to the colours and an overall patina of age to the embroidery as you would expect in a textile from this era.

The cushion is backed in antique french linen.
