A delightful shield shaped bag with integral wrist strap handle, block printed and handmade in India C1920s.
We love how this bag has been designed and printed using one shield shaped block for the main body of the bag and one for the strap.
At each top corner of the shield are wonderful stars emitting rays of light, a particularily lovely motif.
There are also stylised birds holding flowers in their beaks, a stylised carnation and decortiang the handle, trees of life.
Printed in soft blues with a pale sand colour which work well with the black outline of the block printing.
Measurements:
48.5cm tall x 19cm wide
